Originally, this idea was began as a blog, but as traffic and interest increased, it was developed into an interactive website. The featured photos are of "LOLcats". After discovering one humorous picture of a cat, Eric Nakagawa and his partner, Kari Unebasami created I Can Has Cheezburger. In January 2007, the pair began the famed blog that started the LOLcat and LOLanimal craze. Eric was a software developer before beginning the ICHC website, but found that he wanted to dedicate more time to developing the site, and by July 2007, the site was receiving 500,000 hits a day.
