  • Ian Kennedy is a right-handed pitcher currently playing with the New York Yankees. In 2003, Kennedy was drafted by the St. Louis Cardinals but didn't sign and went on to play with University of Southern California (USC) Baseball Team. In the 2005 season, Kennedy struck out 158 batters becoming the eighth USC pitcher to be named Pitcher of the Year by the Pac 10 Conference. Barry Zito, Mark Prior, Randy Johnson and Tom Seavers are fellow USC pitchers that were drafted into MLB. In the 2006 MLB Draft, Kennedy was selected by the New York Yankees in the first round. Kennedy played in the minor leagues just one year before moving to the majors on September 1, 2007. He earned the win, allowing three runs (only one earned run) in seven innings, striking out six, walking two, and allowing five hits. A month later Kennedy married USC basketball player Allison Jaskowiak. Team mates were unable to attend as they were in the play off series against the Cleveland Indians. The couple walked down the aisle to the song "Take Me Out to the Ballgame".
