Career Background
Hart studied both acting and video production in school before starting his career in the British film industry. Among his notable credits are The Englishman Who Went Up a Hill But Came Down a Mountain, Michael Collins, The Butcher Boy, The End of the Affair and A Cock and Bull Story.He played Professor Quirrell, the first of Hogwarts' many Defense Against the Dark Arts' teachers, in the first Harry Potter film, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.

Hart has twice portrayed musician John Lennon - The Hours and Times, a fictionalized account of a real trip taken by Lennon and Beatles manager Brian Epstein, and Backbeat, a biography of early Beatles bassist Stuart Sutcliffe.
