MTV is running a contest called "I Want My Music on MTV" for aspiring musicians to have their songs featured in various programs. Contestants can upload their songs to a special site, then have them voted on my the public. The top six vote-getters will then become finalists, and will be judged by MTV executives.
The winner of the contest gets a song featured in one of the network's shows, along with a special profile of the artist during a commercial break. In addition, the network says the winning song will be featured "during a commercial pod takeover during the broadcast".
