I Love You Phillip Morris is a 2009 comedy film starring Jim Carrey, Ewan McGregor and Leslie Mann. Based on a true story, Carrey stars as Steven Russel, a married father and con artist who lands in a Texas jail after engaging in various insurance fraud acts. While in jail he falls in love with another man, Phillip Morris, played by Ewan McGregor. When Morris is released from jail, Russel makes several prison escapes in order to be with him. The real Russel escaped from jail multiple times by using green markers and a bucket of water to change his prison outfit to look like surgical scrubs, by faking his death from AIDS and signing his own death certificate and by impersonating a judge to arrange his own bail. Steven Russel has a measured IQ of 169.
