During the audition phase of American Idol Season 7, contestant Renaldo Lapuz sang a particularly enthusiastic and off key version of an original composition, "We're Brothers Forever". Randy Jackson got up and danced with Lapuz until the end of the song. Simon Cowell gave him a hug afterwards.

During the show's finale on May 21, 2008, Lapuz was invited back to perform his anthem on the Nokia stage in Los Angeles. Surrounded by the USC marching band and cheerleaders, Lapuz belted out his tune with enthusiasm.
