I Am Legend is a sci-fi film starring Will Smith as Dr. Robert Neville, a scientist trying to find a cure for an infectious virus, that has wiped out most of mankind.
An alternate ending to the science fiction thriller was leaked on the Internet, after it appeared on the DVD. Many movie-goers expressed disappointment in the original ending of the film, which departed from the novel upon which the movie was based.

The new ending, shown on the DVD release, reveals Dr. Neville and his new family as they escape from the devastated ruins of New York City.
I Am Legend 2
Warner Bros. revealed in September 2008, that a prequel to the film would be released, due to the fiery death of Dr. Robert Neville. The new movie would capture the events leading up to the decimation of mankind, in the original storyline.
