Hypothermia

Hypothermia is when someone is exposed to cold conditions and their body temperature falls below 97° degrees. In serious instances, Hypothermia can be deadly, however there are also ways of preventing it.

  1. Warning signs: shivering, grogginess/inability to think, weak pulse, shallow breathing, sometimes loss of consciousness
  2. 20-50% of hypothermal deaths result from paradoxical undressing
  3. 754 deaths recorded each year in US
