Hutts and Recreation
A video mash-up of the opening theme song from the television series Parks and Recreation along with sequences from the film Return of the Jedi featuring the character of Jabba the Hutt.
The YouTube video Hutts and Recreation is a mash-up of the opening credit sequence from the NBC sitcom Parks and Recreation and scenes from the 1983 science-fiction/fantasy film Return of the Jedi. The creator of the video, YouTube user dapootieman, explains in the description that the video was inspired by an inside joke, in which friends would sing the name "Jabba the Hutt" along with the Parks and recreation theme music.
The video was later promoted and celebrated on Twitter by Parks writers Alan Yang and Michael Schur. The voices featured in the video are those of John Mondelli, Will Phillips and Chris Fowle.
Jabba the Hutt
Jabba the Hutt is a character in the Star Wars trilogy of films, and features most prominently into the plot of the third movie in the series, Return of the Jedi. A powerful crime lord, Jabba had employed smuggler Han Solo (played in the movies by Harrison Ford). After Solo lost a load of illegally-obtained spice to The Empire, Jabba sent a wave of bounty hunters after him, including Boba Fett. Once Fett returned Solo to Jabba's home planet of Tatooine (also home to the series' hero, Luke Skywalker, Jabba encased Solo in carbonite and kept him as a souvenir. Skywalker eventually rescues Solo in Return of the Jedi before Princess Leia strangles the villain to death.http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Jabba_Desilijic_Tiure
Jabba's full name is actually "Jabba Desilijic Tiure." The surname "Hutt" refers to his species, which hails from the homeworld of Nal Hutta. He was often accompanied by his personal attache, or "majordomo," Bib Fortuna.
"Star Wars" Mash-Ups
Numerous "mash-ups" and comical parody videos have been based around the Star Wars films. Perhaps the most popular is Han Solo P.I., in which footage of Han Solo is combined with the theme song from the 1980s action TV series Magnum P.I. Other TV shows that have been combined with Star Wars scenes on YouTube include The A-Team and MacGyver.
