Hummer is brand of SUV that was owned by General Motors. The original Hummer design is based on the U.S. military's High Mobility Multipurpose Wheeled Vehicle (Humvee).
On June 1, 2009, following the bankruptcy of General Motors, GM announced that the Hummer brand was going to be discontinued.
