Hogan told Rolling Stone that he related O.J. Simpson's alleged murder of his ex-wife, Nicole Brown. Hogan moved to rival promotion WCW in 1994, and would surprise fans with a heel turn (bad guy), forming the nWo (New World Order) in 1996. Ratings for WCW surged higher than the WWE's, and would win the "Monday Night Wars" until 1998. Hogan won the WCW Championship six times while there.

He briefly returned to the WWE in 2002, even winning the WWE Championship once more before leaving in 2006.

On November 20, 2007, Linda filed for divorce, claiming that her husband was cheating on her with Brooke's friend, Christiane Plante, and/or makeup artist Jennifer McDaniel.
