British actor Hugh Laurie hosted the December 13, 2008, episode of Saturday Night Live with musical guest Kanye West. Laurie previously hosted the show on October 28, 2006, with musical guest Beck. He gained attention for his comedic drag sketch on Saturday Night Live in which he appeared as the wife of a hospitalized man, played by Kenan Thompson.
