Located in Minneapolis, Minnesota, the Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome is the home stadium of the Minnesota Vikings National Football League team and the Minnesota Gophers college football team. At about 5:00 p.m. local time on December 12, 2010, the inflatable Teflon roof of the Metrodome collapsed and tore under the weight of over 17 inches of snow that fell in the area. There were no injuries in the incident, however the game between the Vikings and the New York Giants schedule to take place at the stadium later on December 12, 2010, was postponed and moved. Stadium History
After nearly a decade of discussions and negotiations, construction began on the Metrodome in December 1979 and completed in April 1982. The name of the venue was selected to honor Hubert H. The original tenants played their first games at the stadium in 1982, including the Minnesota Twins, who hosted the Seattle Mariners on April 6, 1982, and the Minnesota Vikings, who welcomed the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on September 12, 1982.http://www.msfc.com/history.cfm

In raw footage aired on FOX, the December 12, 2010, collapse of the Metrodome inflatable roof is featured. Pam Oliver reports from the stadium while snow can be seen on the field and the roof of the building can be seen in disrepair. Prior to the collapse, over 17 inches of snow fell on the Minneapolis area, which was believed to be the cause of the collapse.
