Howard Zinn, alternative U.S. historian, has died at the age of 87. Zinn, most known for his 1980s book, "A People's History of the United States" died in Santa Monica, California while traveling. Howard Zinn was a World War II bombardier who later took a stand in opposition of war based on his experiences. Zinn served in the U.S. Air Force and later finished college using the G.I.
