On December 9, 2010, just days before his contract with Sirius was set to expire, Stern signed on for another five year stint with Sirius XM Radio This was after it was stated that Stern would leave Sirius XM if the contract ended and would sign on to another media outlet. Stern also hinted that retirement was something he was considering.
