  • Howard Shore is a Canadian film composer who has one several awards for his work in the early 2000s.
  • Career

    Despite a busy career scoring films like Mrs. Doubtfire, The Silence of the Lambs and High Fidelity through the 1980s and 1990s, Shore did not receive much recognition until he was chosen by Peter Jackson to score his Lord of the Rings trilogy in 2002.

    His work with the LOTR series earned Shore four Grammy Awards, three Academy Awards, and one Golden Globe, putting him on the "A-list" of film composers.

    Shore has also been a longtime collaborator with Martin Scorsese, and even won another Golden Globe for his music for The Aviator in 2004.

    He is currently working on his first opera, The Fly, based on the film by David Cronenberg, a filmmaker Shore has consistently worked with since 1981.
