Introduction
Powerball is a large jackpot game that is played in 30 of the United States every Wednesday and Saturday at 10:59 pm ET. There are over five million possible combinations that can come out of a single drum of five balls, and almost 200,000 combinations when you include the single Powerball. The Powerball Winner, if there is one, is chosen based on the markings on five white balls picked at random from a drum that holds 59 balls number from 1 to 59. The single Powerball number is taken from another drum that has 39 balls in it. The odds of winning any prize at all is about one in 35; the odds of winning the jackpot for a given day is about one in 195,000,000. -
Step 1: Minimize Your Losses
- Calculating your odds of winning Powerball, for every $1 you spend, your after-tax expected win is fifty cents, so the best that you can do is minimize your losses.

- Pick one number from the second set
- Pick the number of consecutive games you want to play with the same number by marking the appropriate "Multi-Draw"box for 2, 4, 8, 10, 12 or 24 consecutive drawings
