Step 1: Transportation

There are a couple major ways to get to Egypt. The first and main is Egyptair, another alternative is by Sea. There are ferries that operate from Greece and Cyprus to Alexandria.

There are buses that take you through most cities. There are luxurious buses that run mostly through the major cities and the less luxurious overly crowded buses that run all areas in between. Tickets can generally be bought at the bus stations and even on the bus itself. Ask Aladdin is a site for the main buses, their prices and their routes.

Trains are another popular way to tour the land. There are speed trains that are open and air conditioned. To view schedules and prices visit The Man in Seat Sixty-One. You can travel by air through Egyptair if you are short on time and loose in the wallet. However to do this you must book early.

There are many rental car agencies throughout the country. Some of the most popular and well known are, Hertz, Avis, Budget and Europecar. One thing to consider if you are going to be driving through Egypt is that Egyptian drivers do not follow standard road rules and there is a lot of congestion within the city limits. Taxis are recommended for safe travel.

Cruises are a romantic and luxurious way to travel. There are cruises that run down the famous Nile River. Along with cruises there are Feluccas or sail boats. http://goafrica.about.com/od/egypt/a/egessentials_2.htm
