Step 1: Activate Line Segment Tool Bar
Click on the small black triangle in the bottom right-hand corner of the line segment icon. The line segment icon is the fourth button in the left-hand column of the tools palate, . The line segment tools box will appear. Step 2: Use the Line, Arc and Spiral Line Segment Tools
Select the first icon on the left to activate the basic line tool. Click and hold your mouse button where you want to start your line, then drag your mouse until your line segment is complete and let go of your mouse button.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4c0yrCX4ao
Click the second button on the line segment tool palate to activate the arc tool. This tool makes curved lines. Click and hold where you want your curved line to start, then drag your mouse until your preferred curved line appears, then release the button.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4c0yrCX4ao
Activate the third or middle button in the line segment palate to create spiral lines. Click and hold where you want the middle of your spiral to appear. Drag outwards to create a bigger spiral, or drag in a spiral pattern to create a tighter spiral.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4c0yrCX4ao
Step 3: Use the Rectangular Grid Tool and Polar Grid Tool
Double click on the fourth button in your line segment tool palate to bring up the rectangular grid tool options. Adjust the width, height and number of horizontal and vertical dividers to modify your grid pattern. Click on the location where you want the upper left-hand corner of your grid to reside. Click twice on the farthest button on the right of your line segment tool palate. The "Polar Grid Tool Options" box will appear. Adjust the height, width, concentric dividers and radial dividers, then press the "OK" button.
