How to Use the Dashboard on Tumblr: The Toolbar
The dashboard works similarly to the news feed in Facebook or to the timeline in Twitter. If you click Dashboard, you can see postings from people you're following.
If you click your username, which is located next to Dashboard, you will see a feed of only your posts.
The plus sign located at the top of the Tumblr toolbar allows you to create a new blog.
Clicking the message symbol takes you to your inbox.
If you have any questions, check out the help center, which can be identified by locating the question mark symbol in the toolbar.
To access your preferences, click the gear symbol. To logout, click the power symbol.
Dashboard: The Sidebar
The sidebar allows you to see and manage who you're following, view the posts you've liked, explore Tumblr, search within Tumblr and view an automatically updated random post.
One of the best ways to discover new blogs is by clicking Explore Tumblr.
