  • Silicone Bakeware Tips

    1. Check the label to ensure the bakeware features FDA-approved, food-grade silicone.
    2. Avoid bakeware constructed with plastic fillers, which can reduce the heat resistance and possibly leech odors into the food.
    3. If white cracks appear when you bend the silicone bakeware, it's been constructed with fillers.
    4. Although most silicone bakeware has a temperature range of -40 to 500 degrees F, check the label to determine the specific manufacturer's rating.
    5. Do not expose the bakeware to direct heat like stovetop burners or barbecues.
    6. Place filled pans on a metal baking tray for added stability going in and out of the oven.
    7. Although they cool quickly, remove the pans from the oven with hot pads since they're initially hot to the touch.
    8. Avoid using knives, metal tools or abrasive cleaning supplies that can damage the surface.
    9. Wash silicone bakeware with warm, soapy water.
