Not only does the iPad offer users the ability to check email, surf the web, and play games, the GPS enabled device features an easy to use “Maps” application. Full size maps can be viewed on the iPad’s 9.7 inch liquid crystal display in order to help users find their current location, establish directions to and from a location, and view images at the street level. Street View
Turn on the iPad and unlock the home screen. Select the “Maps” application. Find the current location by clicking on the arrow located on the menu located at the top of the screen. The location will be marked with a pin drop on the large map. Click on the pin drop and select the street view icon located on the left hand side of the current location button. Slide the picture across the screen to view 360 degrees of the current location. Tap on the circle located in the bottom right hand corner of the screen to return to the previous map.
Map View
Change the map view by clicking on the image that looks like a flipped page corner at the bottom right hand side of the screen. Choose from “Classic,” “Satellite,” “Hybrid,” or “Terrain.” Select the information icon located on the right hand side of the current location button to view the current address and add the location to the “Contacts” list. Click on the map to exit the information screen.
Directions
Use the search box located at the top of the screen to locate and find directions to specific locations. Use the blue menu bar to choose whether you want the directions to be customized for driving, walking, or using public transportation.
