Easy Halloween and Thanksgiving Decorations
In this video, you will learn how to make super-simple decorative pumpkins out of cloth material and a toilet paper roll. These pumpkins are an excellent choice for those who wish to make Halloween decorations that will last through Thanksgiving, as these festive pumpkins will never go bad.

Introduction
By reusing your Halloween decorations throughout the Thanksgiving season, you can save yourself a bundle in money and time. While some knick knacks and adornments are distinctively Halloween (skulls and cauldrons, for example), others lend themselves very well to the fall feasting season. This guide will help you decide what you can reuse, and how to do it. -
Step 1: Gourds
If you used autumn or winter squashes to decorate your abode for Halloween, you already have a great start. Any gourds that are still relatively healthy looking may be used for Thanksgiving, and even beyond.
- Pumpkins are particularly popular at Halloween, and these look great on a Thanksgiving table or other places around the home. Obviously, carved pumpkins will not work so well (and are probably rotted by now anyway), but just about any other pumpkins will do. If yours are painted with Halloween themes, hide the paint by turning them around or draping with leaf garlands or other appropriate decorations.
Step 2: Scarecrows
Have a spooky scarecrow in your yard or inside the home? This will double perfectly as a festive Thanksgiving decoration. Surround with colorful leaves, hay, maize or other autumn vegetables. Remove any extraneous spiders, or other scary critters, or cover them up with other items, such as scarves.Step 3: Other Decorations
Other items that can be used for both Halloween and Thanksgiving include:- Wreaths
- Dried flowers
- Hay or other dried grasses
- Dried Corn
- Fall leaf garlands
- Remember, you can always cover up Halloween touches on these items with garlands, leaves, or "Happy Thanksgiving" banners.
