Battery Basics
- It takes an about 4 hours to charge most iPods, but the battery will be about 80% charged in an hour.
- You can disconnect the iPod and use it before it's fully charged.
- Because the iPod's lithium-ion battery does not have a memory, you don't need to wait until it's fully discharged before charging it.
- The battery also will stop charging when it's full, so you don't need to worry about it continuing to draw power while it's connected .

How to Charge an iPod
- Using an Apple iPod Power Adapter
- Connect your iPod to the adapter using the FireWire or USB cable that came with your iPod
- Plug the adapter into a working electrical socket
- Using a Computer
- Make sure that your computer is turned on and isn't sleeping or in hibernation
- Connect the iPod to a USB or Firewire port on your computer that provides power
- Plug your computer in to an electrical power source
- You can disconnect your iPod when the safe to remove icon appears on its screen.
- Using an iPod Dock
- Some iPods have an available dock that you can use to charge the iPod.
- Connect the dock to the computer, following the same procedures as if you were using a USB or Firewire cable to connect the iPod directy.
- Place the iPod securely in the dock.

- ITunes proprietary softeware from Apple, that allows you to manage thyour iPod from your computer, and access movies and videos from the Apple store. Apple can detect whether you have a PC or a mac, ss you don't need to worry.
