Introduction

All Hallow's Eve finds millions of children walking from house to house asking for treats, and threatening tricks if none is received. Trick or treating is lots of fun, as long as you take steps to remain safe and trick or treat properly.

Step 1: How to Trick or Treat

In order to go trick or treating, you will need to dress in a Halloween costume. Halloween costumes can be made or bought, and can be simple or incredibly elaborate.

  1. Make sure you to wear comfortable shoes as trick or treating involves a lot of walking.
  2. Remember to bring a jacket or sweater - October nights can be chilly.http://www.ehow.com/how_4495397_go-trickortreating.html
  3. If you are an older trick or treater, make sure your costume is age appropriate for trick or treating with children.

Step 2: Get a Group Together

Don't go trick or treating alone. Before embarking on your trick or treating, make sure you have a group of friends to go with. Also make sure that the group includes at least one adult.

Step 3: Go Trick or Treating

Once you have your group together, you can start walking and knocking on doors.

  1. Only go to houses that have the porch light on.
  2. Don't go inside any stanger's homes.
  3. Always be polite. Say "Trick or Treat" and then "thank you" once you receive your candy.
  4. Visit as many houses as your candy bag will hold.

Step 4: Check Your Candy

Once you get home, make sure you inspect your candy before you eat any of it.

  1. Throw away anything that looks like it has been opened and re-wrapped.
  2. Do not eat anything that came unwrapped, such as apples or oranges. Though these items probably come with good - and healthy - intentions, you do not want to take a chance on eating them.
