Hiccup is an awkward yet precocious boy who has been living in the shadow of his Viking warrior father. He has been diligently raised to hate dragons, which regularly haunt their small town. When Hiccup finds a small dragon in the woods, his quest is compromised by his own compassion towards the animal.
