Would you like to know how to throw a kegger party? This guide will show you how to throw a keg party and review some helpful kegger tips to make your party the best it can be.
-
Tips
- Under no circumstances can anyone leave your party with beer or liquor in their hands. If the police come, lock the front door, cut the music and tell everyone that the police are walking through quickly. If someone leaves, they will likely be issued a ticket for disorderly conduct or drinking in public and your party will be immediately shut down.
- If people are paying to get into the party, ensure that you assign a strong guy or husky girl to watch the door and hold the money belt. Simple round dollar amounts are the best. Make a large sign saying "no change provided" so that your banker / bouncer does not expose the cash in the money belt.
- It is a good idea to lock up your empty kegs. They can be returned for money and are often stolen from keg parties.

Introduction
Throwing a kegger party is a time honored tradition not only at many colleges but for bachelor parties, sorority parties and even birthday parties.By following a few simple steps and thinking about how to throw a kegger party before it happens, you'll be prepared for the best keg party ever.
-
Step 1: Find a place to have the keg party
- A house is recommended. Drinking outside is illegal in many states.http://www.tameside.gov.uk/corpgen1/byelaws.htm
- Ensure that you have full and complete permission from the people who own the house. Having a keg party in a "vacationing parent" house likely isn't the best location.
- Go to your local town hall to find out if you need to file for an entertainment / loud noise permit. This sounds complicated, but it's not. Filing a simple permit could keep your party going until the wee hours of the morning without trouble from the cops.
- Talk to the neighbors. Invite them if it is appropriate.
- Inside the house, remove any and all valuable or breakable objects. Drywall is easy to repair and carpet is easy to clean. Replacing lamps and loosing heirlooms is not easy.
- Some advanced keg party organizers rent a U-Haul truck for a weekend, pack the valuable contents of the house in the truck, drive it down the street and move back in when the party is over.
- Lock all unnecessary doors. If you party frequently, replacing non locking door knobs with locking door knobs can mean the difference between a mess you don't want to clean up and no mess at all.
Step 2: Buy a Keg and Keep it Cold
- To purchase a keg, you will need to go to your local store that sells beer and liquor at least a week ahead of time.
- You may need to rent or buy a pump kit and depending on the kit, you may need to buy Co2.
- Some of the most advanced keg parties have keggerators to dispense the beer and keep it cold.http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2009/09/gallery_kegerators/
- Many keg party organizers simply buy the cheapest large plastic garbage cans they can find.
- Place the tapped keg in the garbage bin and fill with ice. Your beer will stay cold for a long time.
Step 3: Assign jobs to your friends
- There are a few key party roles that must be filled. If you are charging people to cover to come to your party, give each worker a piece of the profit if they stay sober and do their job.
- Assign 1 large friend to guard the door. You don't want things to get out of control. This person should be able to close the front door in case the party is over capacity or if the police show up.
- Having 2 (or more) dedicated bartenders is a good idea. Not only will this keep things clean, but it will help everyone refill their glasses quickly.
- If your throwing a large party, having a maid is helpful. This is the least glamorous party position but arguably the most important. If one person goes around picking up beer cups, garbage, etc for the majority of the night, cleanup will be a breeze.
