The Pharmacy College Admission Test (PCAT) is the standardized admission test for entrance to pharmacy school. The American Association of Colleges of Pharmacy (AACP) endorses the PCAT as the preferred pharmacy school entrance exam. The test consists of 5 sections consisting of 240 multiple-choice items as well as two writing topics which, in sum, must be completed within 4 hours.http://www.pearsonassessments.com/haiweb/Cultures/en-US/site/Community/PostSecondary/Products/pcat/pcathome.htm
Step 1: What to Bring
You will need to present your Final Admissions Ticket at your registered test site. You will receive this Ticket 10 or more days before the test. You must bring No. 2 pencils with which to mark the test bubbles, as well as two forms of identification with signatures and pictures on at least one. You are restricted from bringing much else into the exam. You will be able to bring water and a snack but will have to part from your belongings during the test, only gaining access to them during a break. You will receive the test results within 5 weeks and transcripts of those results will be kept on file for up to five years, by the testing authority.http://www.studytips.org/pcat_test.htm
Step 2: Time Limits
The PCAT has several time traps which you should avoid falling into. They are the top reason students don't finish, or preform poorly on the test. Avoid these traps by preparing for every section thoroughly. Insist that your study and review material contain detailed information covering all of these five areas in a clear and concise way.http://www.pearsonassessments.com/haiweb/Cultures/en-US/Site/Community/PostSecondary/Products/PCAT/Subpages/About+the+Practice+Test.htm
- Verbal Ability consists of 48 items regarding analogies and sentence completion
- Biology consists of 48 items containing analogies and sentence completion exercises
- Chemistry has 48 items about general and organic chemistry
- Reading Comprehension consists of 48 items on comprehension, analysis, evaluation and writing

Step 3: Take Five
It is important to stay relaxed before and during the test. Staying calm will help you concentrate and focus. You will get a break half way through the test so plan accordingly by bringing comfort items which will help you feel at ease. Also keep in mind that you may have up to five tries at the PCAT before having to meet additional requirements.http://www.youtube.com/PearsonFieldResearch#p/u/3/pH6h0PKKip4 So take five and hang loose.
