To say "Thank you" in French, you will want to use the standard Merci (mair see) in most situations. To say "Thank you very much," you will want to use the phrase Merci beaucoup (mair see bo coo). You can use the phrase Merci bien (mair see bee ehn) to say "Thanks a lot," although, like in English this phrase can be used in a sarcastic manner. If you want to use the phrase "I thank you," you would say Jevous remercie (zhuh voo ruh mair see).
