Introduction
- Registering and becoming a party member is a privilege that is not afforded to everyone. Read and research the political positions of the Republican party to see if they agree with your convictions. If they do, then proudly take the action of identifying yourself as part of the Republican Party, by registering as one.
Step 1: Obtain A Voter's Registration Form
- Voter registration forms can be obtained at your local government post office, the Department of Motor Vehicles or online at the Republican action center or on your state or city's website.
Step 2: Qualifications
- Each state has its own regulations, which are revealed on the registration form. Some similar state requirements include the following:
- You must be a citizen of the United States.
- You must be a resident of the state in which you are attempting to register.
- You must be 18 years old on or before the upcoming election.
- You must not have a felony conviction on your record or be residing in a prison or jail.
- You must be competent to vote.
Step 3: Register
- When registering, you will be asked for:
- Your name
- Date of birth
- Social security number
- Contact information
- Registration address
- Mailing address
- The name of your chosen party, ie. Republican
- A confirmation that you are a United States resident
- A confirmation that you meet your state's eligibility requirements
- A confirmation that you are providing accurate information
After your application has been submitted, you should receive a confirmation card in the mail. The process may take between six to eight weeks. The card will also provide you with your election voting location.
