Introduction
- Although the Club Nintendo program has been in effect in Japan for several years, it did not make its North American debut until December of 2008. The program allows Nintendo users to earn virtual money in the form of Nintendo coins by registering Nintendo products they own and completing surveys about those products. Club members can then use their coins to purchase rewards from the Club Nintendo catalog.
Step 1: Sign up for Club Nintendo
- Nintendo gamers can sign up for a Club Nintendo account on the official website by filling in the necessary information on the sign up form. Be aware that you must be at least 13 years old to sign up. If you are under the age of 13, you will have to ask a parent or guardian to create and manage your account for you. If you are a member of the Club Nintendo precursor, My Nintendo, simply sign in using your My Nintendo user name and password to be walked through the steps of transferring your My Nintendo account to Club Nintendo.
Step 2: Earn Nintendo Coins
- Once you have established your Club Nintendo account, you can get to work earning yourself some Nintendo Coins. To so so, go to the Club Nintendo website and register any Nintendo products you own, including your gaming system and any games that you purchase. You will earn coins for most Nintendo products that you register, and can earn even more coins by filling out any offered surveys related to the registered products.
Step 3: Redeem Your Coins
- Most of the rewards in the Club Nintendo catalog cost several hundred coins. Keep in mind that some rewards are available for a limited time and the merchandise offered in the catalog will change periodically. Nintendo coins do expire: They are valid for up to three years and will expire on the third June 30th after which they are issued.
