In fact, many people believe that everyone has the capability to read minds. If you are interested in tapping in to your own mind reading gifts, this guide will provide you with information and tips on how to read minds.

Neuroscience and Mind Reading
Check out this video from a ‘’60 Minutes’’ program examining mind reading from the field of neuroscience. This video looks at various techniques neuroscientists are using to help them read both people’s basic thoughts and their intentions, helping them to better understand the way a person’s mind stores and remembers certain objects and emotions. At the crux of these techniques are brain scans and imagining, with MRI machines being used to assess the information. The video discusses the process and techniques that are used, as well as the implications such scientific breakthroughs may have on the law, as well as a person’s moral and ethical values.

Introduction
Have you ever wondered if there is any truth to people being able to read minds? If so, you are not the only one. Neuroscientists are constantly exploring the possibilities of mind reading by studying and trying to understand an individual's brain waves. These studies are not the only ones that reveal you don't have to be a psychic to read minds. In fact, learning mind reading techniques is something anyone can do if you are willing to put forth the effort. This guide will provide you with information on how to read minds. -
Understanding Mind Reading
Before you begin the art and practice of reading someone's mind, you should first become familiar with the various ways mind reading is viewed. Mind reading can be:
- Supernatural. This refers to the method of mind reading that is grouped in the 'psychic activity' or 'ESP' realm.
- Scientific. This deals with neuroscientists that actually study the human mind as a means of determining whether brain waves can be studied and people's thoughts can actually be recorded.
- Psychological. This is connected to the idea that we all can read minds, as long as we are willing to pay attention to certain aspects of character and the way people behave around others.
Step 1: Study the Pupils
One of the simplest ways of reading a person's mind is to study their pupils, which are the black dots in the center of a person's eyes. When people become interested in something, or they become excited and aroused, their pupils grow larger. You can use this knowledge to determine various aspects of a person or their personality by watching their pupils as you have a conversation. You can direct the conversation towards certain topics to determine:
- Whether a person likes you. You can do this with a potential mate, co-worker or a complete stranger.
- What a person's interests are. Do they like sports, movies or travel? If so, what types? All you need to do is direct the conversation towards these various subjects or specific aspects of them and see whether their pupils grow larger.
- What a person has strong feelings towards. If you breach a political topic and the person's pupils immediately grow larger, you will know they have strong opinions on the topic. You can then continue to probe deeper into it and your own ideas on it, watching the pupils and other mannerisms to get a general idea of where they stand without ever hearing them definitively tell you.
Watching the pupils is a great way to gain a general assessment of a person's likes and dislikes. It will not reveal exactly what they are thinking, but it will help you gain insight into subjects or activities you may want to further explore or avoid.Step 2: Pay Attention to Body Movements
Studying a person's body movements, or body language, is a great way to gain insight into their psyche. Body language tends to reveal a person's overall mood or internal emotions in contrast to the way they may be presenting themselves. While a person may appear calm and stoic, or happy and in control, they may be revealing anger, fear or disappointment through their body movements. Some types of body language you may want to pay attention to include, but are not limited to the following:
- How much a person is moving while talking to you or addressing others
- Movement of the hands or arms or the way the hands or arms are positioned.
- How close a person is to others, and whether or not they lean in or move away from a person
- The pitch of a person's voice
- What a person does with their mouth or lips
Step 3: Listen!
One of the most important ways to read a person's mind is to listen to them. Too often people forget to listen. Listening is one of the techniques that psychics often use that people may mistake as the ability to 'foresee' the future. Really, they are simply listening to the person whose fortune they are telling, and listening can often be mistaken for the more esoteric version of mind reading. All of us can listen! Listening to someone will often help you 'predict' what they are thinking at a later date. If you remember a person's likes and dislikes, what makes them angry or scared, and you remember everything they tell you regarding such emotions, then when something happens that evokes this emotion inside them, you should be able to tell. If you also learn to recognize what their body movements mean and are able to watch their pupils, then you can implement these aspects of mind reading with the listening technique! Just remember, you do not have to be psychic to read minds. It is really as simple as paying attention.
