How to Quickly Arrange Icons in Windows 7 Video
This video posted by Mahalo,com on YouTube features Morgan Mendieta providing a tip on how to quickly arrange icons in Windows 7. He reviews the old method required in other operating systems and the new, fast way to quickly arrange the desktop icons to have a clean desktop.
Step 1: Prepare Your Desktop to Rearrange Icons
Minimize any active programs and window so that you can see all of the icons residing on your desktop. You can quickly minimize all active folders by using the "show desktop" function. Click the rectangular box to the right of the time and date on your task bar to minimize all windows quickly.
Step 2: Arrange Icons
Once you can see your desktop, press the F5 button located at the top of your keyboard. All your icons on your desktop will move into a row and column format. If the icons are not arranged to your preferences, manually arrange the icons and then press F5 again to snap the icons into a grid pattern.
Step 3: Re-Arrange Icons
Repeat steps 1 and 2 any time your desktop is messy or disorderly for a quick method of arranging your icons in Windows 7. Prior versions of Windows does not have the F5 ease of rearranging the desktop, as this is a new feature for Windows 7.
