Step 1: Choosing Your Class in Sword of the New World

Each class has its own advantage or disadvantage, but no matter what you choose you will be able to adopt combat stances with your character. The classes available in the game are: http://internet-games.suite101.com/article.cfm/sword_of_the_new_world_classes

  1. Wizard – it’s a long range fighter capable to use powerful spells in order to damage his enemies. In a party a wizard character can be an important member able to inflict high DPS amounts. It will buff his party, shielding them and can also use aggressive spells on his enemies. A wizard can also levitate and use curses, lowering his enemy’s defenses and stats.
  2. Fighter – can wield swords and shields, including two-handed weapons such as javelins. Using a shield and the provoke skill, this class can take the role of a tank while in a party, keeping the enemies at distance while long ranged characters are taking them down. Due to his ability to wear heavy armors, a fighter has increased defense, but he can also use daggers, making him capable to speed up his attacks.
  3. Elementalist – is a caster class. Just like his name says, this class will control the power of elements (fire, ice or lighting) in order to attack his enemies from distance. An Elementalist can only wear cloth armor which makes it vulnerable to closed melee attacks, but in a party he is able to cast the most powerful spell if it’s protected by a tank. It will also use buffs on he’s team as long as he has mana.
  4. Musketeer – can Concentrate while using a long range weapon, mostly a firearm (pistols, rifles), which allows him to aim better and with more damage. However, a Musketeer can also attack with his bayonet, in a closed range fight, poison his bullets and even attack with his fists]. A party should always have a character of this class before adventuring into dungeons.
  5. Scout – is the healer class in Sword of the New World. It can resuscitate his party members, heal them but as a melee fighter he will use daggers to attack his enemies. Wearing only light armor, a scout can evade and parry attacks at a high rate, hitting back with powerful attacks, most of them deadly. As a scout, the player can also set traps when encountering foes.
