Another unique aspect of the game is the ability to steal your neighbor’s crops by visiting their farm. 1. When you first start the game, there will a pop up which will act as your tutorial to the game. The pop up asks you to purchase some seeds from the Store, select the seeds and select empty plot of land. Click next will take you to the next part of the tutorial which will explain the 5 stages of growth: Sprout, Baby, Leaf, Adult Leaf, Blossom, and Ripe. Some plants will skip the Blossom stage.

2. The tutorial then explains how to take care of your crops with Watering Can, Pesticide, and Weed Killer. You should harvest the crops when they are ripe as soon as possible. The harvest will be stored in the Barn where you can sell them. There are also small tasks to do and you can help your friends by doing tasks when you visit them.

3. You can add some neighbors, or you can postpone this step. Afterward, the task pop up will appear and ask you to harvest your crops. Follow the instruction and harvest your first crop at your farm. After you harvest the crop, you will be rewarded with 100 xp and 50 coins. Do the next task to get level up and get 6 packs of fertilizer.

4. The next task is to sell your harvest which is stored in your barn. Click the fourth icon from the icon list below your farm, which looks like small building with red roof. Click Sell All to finish the task.

5. Next task is to plant something new. First, you need to buy seeds. Go to the Store by clicking the Happy Store icon, It is the fifth icon which looks like a colorful building with a green roof. This is the place to purchase seeds, flower, accessories to help you maintain your farm, and props. Buy some seeds you want. Click the My Farm icon, the third icon with rectangular brown shape or Happy Store icon again to return to your farm.

6. You have finished your first tasks, now you need to care for your farm.

At this point, you might have seen your other crops in various states. Some have worms crawling on the leaves, a weed beside your plant, and a patch of soil is dry. You need to care for these plants so they can yield good harvest. You can only do the actions when your plants need them.

• To get rid of the worms, click the Kill Pest icon on your right side, It looks like a bottle with brown cap and click the infested leaves.
• To water the dry soil, click the Watering Can icon and click the dry patch.
• To get rid of the weed, click the Clear Weeds icon which looks like a bottle with green cap.

There are clocks ticking above your plants. These clocks show how much time remains until they grow to their next stage of growth. To speed up the process, use basic fertilizer. To instantly get to the next stage of growth, use premium fertilizer. You can only use fertilizer once in their current stage of growth.

While waiting for your plants to grow, you can take a look at the Menu and Navigation. At the upper left corner, you will your name, your experience points, your charisma points, how much money you have, and how much Happy Farm credits you have. At the upper right corner, there are small icons for music, sound effect, and graphic option. Clicking the music and sound effect will enable or disable the music and sound effect for this game. Clicking the graphic option will let you increase the quality or decrease the quality of the graphic.

Beside the patches of your plants, you will see a wooden sign to buy the land. You can expand your farm by buying more lands when you have at least 8 neighbors. Near your farm, you can see a house. That is your house to store gifts from your friends. You can take a look at it, but for now it is empty. You have the option to ask for gifts from your friends.

Now let’s take a look at the icon lists at the bottom of the room. The current view for the bottom menu is your Bag. You can change the bottom menu by clicking the first icon, the Friends icon. Clicking the My Farm icon will bring you back your farm. You have clicked Barn icon and Happy Store icon from previous tasks. The Pet Store icon will bring you the game’s pet store where you can buy pets with Happy Farm credits.

Return to your farm. Beside the flower icon, you can see a camera icon which you can use to take a picture of your farm and post it on your Wall on Facebook. Your inbox is where the gifts are stored before you use them. Click the icon and accept the gifts from the game developer.

The last icon is the task icon. Clicking the task icon will tell you your current task. Your task for now is to keep your soil hydrated. Log in to Happy Farm from time to time to check if your plants need your care.

Having at least 8 neighbors are prerequisite to expand your farm. Having neighbors also enables you to exchange gifts. Helping out your neighbors at their farms means you can also get some xp points.

You can also steal crops from your neighbors. If they have ripe crops that haven’t been harvested, you can steal from them for random numbers of harvest. However, your action will be noted in their farm log. If they have pets to guard their farm, you may be caught and will have to pay a fine.
