Step 1: Getting Started

Step 2: Finding your FarmVille Farm and Creating your Character

Now that you are at the start up screen, you will be able to customize your farmer avatar to better match you and your style. Choose his or her hair color and style and clothing. Once you have a character then you are ready to go to get to work on your farm.

At the start you will see your new Farmer and you will be on your own plot of land. You should notice that some of the land has plants growing already. Step 3: Learning the Buttons and Tools for Successful Farming

Across the bottom you will see various tools. These tools will allow you to plow your ground, plant your seeds, and harvest your crops. The clear arrow (called the multi - tool) will help you plant and harvest without having to switch tools as often.

You will also see a market button. The market is where you will buy the seeds for your planting. It also is where you purchase items for your farm.

Next there is a gift box. This is a favorite place to visit as it contains gifts your neighbors will be sending you, which include plants, animals and other special various gifts. Your friends and neighbors would love for you to give them gifts in return. Now we can start to plant.

Step 4: Planting Your Crops

1. Plow additional areas one square at a time using the plow tool so that you can plant more cash crops. Save enough money to plant more crops.

2. Going back to your multi-tool. You can now left click and choose what item you want to grow. Each item has a price. Always watch your money on the top left hand of the farm.

3. Simply click on the spots where you want to grow a crop and your avatar will go plant the seeds for you.

Once you have planted the seeds you will have a bit of a waiting game before the plants are ready for harvest.

Step 5: Harvesting Your Crops:

1. Hover your mouse over the already planted crops to see in real time when they are ready to be harvested. If they are ready you will simply left click and the options will be "Move" or "Harvest." Harvesting will take the crop and give you experience points.

2. Hover your mouse over your animals and it will tell you if they are ready to be sheared or milked and many other actions. At that point you can gain XP for the action you take with the animals.

Step 6: Expanding your Farm

Keep planting crops, harvesting them and helping your neighbors. With the money you gain, you will be able to buy barns, houses, decorations, tractors and all the other items that you desire. As you level up, you will gain additional items that you can purchase. You can also gain the opportunity to expand your farm. Each time you level up you can expand, and you are able to add more items, bigger crops, and make more money.
