This page will teach you how to play Country Life on Facebook. Country Life is a web based game which is very similar to the other popular Facebook game, ‘Farmville’. Like ‘Farmville’, you need to plant crops and tend to animals to get money. 'Country Life' takes the game a step further by introducing ways to increase the value of the harvests through some different methods. The latest goal to this game stated by the developer is “Buy a baker, and use flour, eggs, and milk to bake delicious bread. Bread sells for a good price and you get 1 XP for each ingredient used.”http://apps.facebook.com/countrylife/play?ref=tab.
This games graphics are cartoonish and by playing Country Life, you will be able to actively learn to calculate time and money, learn about produce, harvest, and experience the process of making some food items.http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-26856-West-Salem-Facebook-Games-Examiner~y2009m11d23-Enjoying-the-Country-Life-on-Facebook The game play is also very simple for inexperienced gamers.
Some people believe that the game is too simple.http://www.examiner.com/examiner/x-26856-West-Salem-Facebook-Games-Examiner~y2009m11d23-Enjoying-the-Country-Life-on-Facebook There are only a few crops that you can plant, animals you can own, and very few options for machines and decorations for your farm. This game is still in Beta version though. Notated on the info page on Facebook, the developer updates the game quite frequently and is responsive to users’ feedback. http://www.facebook.com/apps/application.php?id=26947445683#/apps/application.php?v=wall&id=26947445683
As with most social games on Facebook, you need friends and neighbors to be able to expand your farms, exchange gifts and to do certain tasks in your farm. Exchanging gifts is a great way to make and save money in this game.
Country Life is completely free. However, you might want to buy Ranch Cash which you can use to expand your farm without having neighbors, or to buy fertilizer to reduce the growing time for your crops. There are several payment options for purchasing Ranch Cash. You can use your credit card, Paypal, Social Gold, Pay by Cash, DAO Pay, Click and Buy, or SpareChange. You can also join some groups listed on the Facebook page to get free Ranch Cash. http://apps.facebook.com/countrylife/offers?ref=tab

Country Life Robot Farm Management
This video features a look at a software that automatically manages users farms on both FarmVille and Country Life, on Facebook. The bot is capable of undertaking a series of farms tasks quickly, by repeating what the user has done. For instance, if a user harvests one of their crops, the bot is capable of repeating the action over and over again.
Country Life Bees
This is a short video from a ‘Country Life’ player about her farm. The player has some bee hives and the bees pollinate her clover crops which look like pink flowers. You can see the bees flying around the farm and going in and out of their hives. Clovers are useful for animal feed while owning bee hives will enable you to produce honey. You can also see the brown squares, which are the soil where you can plant your crops.
Step 1: Getting Started
When you first load the game, the developer will give you some items to get started: a cow, 6 patches of ready-to-plant soil, as well as 12 patches of clovers and 14 patches of wheat, which are both ready to harvest.
First, harvest the clover and the wheat. Do not be alarmed to see your money does not increase just yet. All of your harvest is kept in the barn where you can save items for later use. You also have the option of selling the items you keep in the barn. Click the barn icon at the bottom right of the game page to see the list of crops that you have hravested. Click ‘Sell’ to sell the wheat for the amount of money listed; you will need the money to buy seeds for your farm. Do not sell the clover.
Now, feed the cow Clover by clicking the cow. Your cow will eat a batch of your clover to produce milk. It takes 100 seconds to produce each bottle of milk from a batch of clover. You can click the milk when you are ready to save it in the barn. You can then sell the milk for 25 gold each, which is an upgrade from selling clover for just 20 gold each.
Step 2: Planting Crops
Adding soil patches, planting the crops, and harvesting them will give you experience points to level up and make money. Unlike playing ‘Farmville’, you don’t need to re-plow the existing soil after you harvest your crops. You do, however, need to plow other areas if you want to make additional planting soil. You can do this by selecting the Plow tool icon at the bottom right corner of the screen. You can also delete existing objects and planting soil with the Sell tool. To move any objects or soil, use the Move tool.
To plant crops, click the Store icon which looks like a shopping cart. This will take you to the Ranch shop. Choose seeds, and buy the seeds you want. Certain seeds need certain levels to be unlocked. As a beginner, you can only plant clover when you reach level 3. Once you reach level 3, you can use your harvested clover to feed the animals.
Every crop needs specific time to grow; sometimes it takes days for the crop to grow. To speed up the process, you can buy Fertilizer with Ranch Gold at the Store, which will reduce the growing time.
Step 3: Trees and Animals
You can buy 3 kinds of trees to plant, each of which will produce fruits in a certain amount of time. You can also buy some animals such as bees in beehives, chickens, cows, sheep, and rabbits. These animals will produce certain harvests for you such as honey, eggs, milk, and wool. Certain animals require Ranch Cash to obtain them.
If you have just started Country Life, you may not be able to purchase animals until you reach certain levels. However, you can receive them (and give them) as gifts from your friends. This is a more economical way to get the trees and animals you want.
A beehive must pollinate a patch of mature clover (unpicked clover) to be able to produce honey. After the clover is pollinated, the bees will move on to another patch. If the bees cannot pollinate a patch of mature unpollinated clover, they will not produce honey. You can pick the pollinated clover patches and sell them or use them like you do with unpollinated clover. You need to be logged into the game for the bees to do their work.
After you level up and are able to buy a chicken coop, you can start to produce eggs. The chicken must be fed with corn before it is able to lay eggs. In order to feed your chicken, you will need to plant corn. If you sell corn, it is only 80 gold per corn, but if you feed it to the chicken, the chicken will lay an egg which will sell for 120 gold.
Step 4: Upgrading Your Farm
You can expand your farm by having a certain number of friends as your neighbors and by paying certain amounts of money. Expanding your farm gives you more space to plant crops and to have more animals. The maximum amount of space you can currently own is 29 x 29 squares. If you don’t have the gold or the neighbors, you can buy the expansion with Ranch Cash.
Aside from expanding your farm, you can buy some Gears or machines which you can use to increase the value of your harvest. The available Gears in the store are Chicken Coop, Cheese Master, Dutch Mill, Ketchup Wiz, Winemaker, Jam’R, and the ultimate gear for this game: the Baker gear which can be used to produce bread. You need to reach certain level before you can unlock the Gears.
You can also personalize your farm with some decorations. Currently, there are seven or more items you can decorate with, and the developers are creating new options every day. You can place certain items in your farm to make it unique. These items include hay bales, bird baths, fences, wooden barrels, and more.http://www.brighthub.com/video-games/mmo/articles/73884.aspx?p=2
