How to Play C Sharp Seven C#7 Chord on Guitar

Understanding the strings and the frets on your guitar

Assuming that you are right handed. Your guitar will be cradled on your lap with the right hand for strumming and the left hand for string and fret placement. The strings are counted from the bottom to the top. The very bottom one is 1 and therefore the next is 2,3,4,5 and the top one is 6. The frets start at the far end of the neck of your guitar. The outer most is 0 the next bar is 1 and then the next is 2 and so on. So, when instructed to place your fingers on the 4th fret, go to the 4th space.

Step 1:This is a C sharp seven chord or Dominant chord. It is a bar chord.

Place your first finger on the 5th and 1st strings of the 4th fret.

Step 2:

Place your third finger on the 4th string on 6th fret. Your pinky finger on the 2nd string of the 6th fret.

Step 3: The final step to get a great dominant sound.

Strum down all five strings. You get a great strong dominant sound. It is important to strum down strongly, gently and evenly to get the sound that you need for the chord.
