Atlantica Online is a fantasy turn-based MMORPG developed by NDOORS Interactive and released on October 30, 2008. The game was also published by NDOORS Interactive, and it is free to play, without monthly fee to be paid. Atlantica Online runs on Microsoft Windows platforms.

The game takes action long time ago, after the Atlantians destroyed four powerful civilizations: Yellow River, Indus Valley, Mesopotamia, and Egypt, trying to find more crystals in order to create a substance called Oriharukon. This substance granted them a prosperous life during the ages. Atlantica Online is a turned base strategy game, this page will show you how to choose your character’s class, how to understand the game interface what controls are used in the game.

Atlantica Online features 9 classes. http://atlantica.ndoorsgames.com/center/guide/character.asp Every hero will play in a party formed by the main character and hired mercenaries (8). In the game only your character will be displayed but during a battle your entire party will become active. Here is the list with the available classes:

1. Sword – is the first class of the game and it can be used by players who enjoy closed melee fights with one handed swords. This class has increased Defense stat and can use shields. A Sword can also buff his stats using magic skills such as: Flame Sword, Deadly Strike, Guard Dispel or Break Down.
2. Spear – is also a melee fighter unable to attack flying units. It has balanced Strength and Defense and medium Dexterity. The magic spells available to a Spear are: Break Down, Guard Dispel or Lightning Spear.
3. Axe – is capable to attack an entire row, hitting 3 enemies at the same time this class is inflicting impressive damage. With his axe sending bolts of ice, it is able to freeze his enemies. Most important stats are Defense and Strenght therefore this class it’s weak against magic attacks.
4. Gun – it’s a long range fighter in Atlantica Online. If the Axe can hit an entire row, the Gun can hit 3 enemies from a line. Some of his magic spells are: Wild Shot, Deadly Shot, Chaos Wind and Scorching Bullets. This class has increased Dexterity but medium Defense.
5. Bow – has the capability to silence the enemies using the Silence spell. Being a long range fighter it has increased Dexterity like the Gun but he is also capable to hit enemies from the last row. Using Arrow Cascade it will start a rain of arrows over his target.
6. Cannon – is the only class in the game able to hit 4 enemies at the same time, but with a low attack power. It is also the most balanced class and has Deep Insight and Devastation Shell available as spells. When he attacks an enemy 3 more will be hit in a cross-pattern.
7. Staff –it is the healing class in the game with high intelligence but low defense. When reaching high levels he can equip orbs to increase his defense. This class has a wide range of spells: Blessing of Life, Hex of Darkness, Brutal Will and more.
8. Maniac – is only available if you have a character of level 100+. It is the class with the biggest defense stat in the game and can attack 3 enemies in a row using his melee weapons. Chainsaw Blade it’s one of his spells and will summon a giant chainsaw to attack his enemies.
9. Musician – is long range caster capable to use songs in order to reduce their enemy stats. They can wear light armors and have medium Dexterity. Some of the spells available to access are: Ravaging Melody, Requiem, and Melody of Madness.

As we said Atlantica Online is a turn-based MMORPG therefore the controls are different than in other game of this type, especially during a fight. Here is the list with the default keys assigned in the game and their functions:

• Moving keys:

-To move forward press: W;

-To move backward press: S;

-To rotate left press: A;

-To rotate right press: D;

-To strafe left press: Q;

-To rotate right press: E;

-To sit press X but you can only do that after you complete a quest.

• Combat keys:

They are only available while you are engaged in a fight;

-To attack press: A;

-To skip the turn with all your units press: ~ ;

-To search for a specific item, spell, etc… on the selected unit press: S;

-To change your enlisted mercenary’s battle formation press: D;

-To search for a specific item, spell, etc… on all your units press: X;

-To switch between your camera modes press: Z;

-To set a defensive stance on your selected unit press: G;

-To quickly select a mercenary you enlisted press: 1-9 keys;

-To quickly access one of your skills press: Q, W, E, R, T;

-To move your camera in the battle mode press one of the arrow keys.

• Basic Keys:

-To access your inventory press: Space;

-To select your next enlisted mercenary press: Tab;

-To use the spells, items, etc..from your Quick Slots press: F1-F5. Make sure you add them to your Quick Slots bar first;

-To enter your chat box press: Enter;

-To open your map press: M;

-To exit the game press: Esc;

-To open your Skill Panel press: Alt+K;

-To open your Quest Log press: Alt+L.

Once you enter the Atlantica Online universe the game interface will show up. There are several things you always have to keep an eye on during your play. This step will inform you about the features offered by the game interface:

• Character Bar – it’s located in the low right corner of your screen. It displays your portrait with 3 bars each having a different color: red, blue and yellow. The red bar represents your health while the blue one represents your mana bar. The yellow bar shows your experience points. Fill in the yellow bar and you will gain a new level. On the same area you can see your current level. Near your portrait your hired mercenaries are displayed, with the same bars. Every time you hire a new mercenary, it will occupy a slot. The maximum number is 8.

• Character Window – Displays all your character’s stats. You can see your current level, number of hired members, how many skill point you have for a certain spell, etc…After each stat, strength, dexterity, vitality and so on, you will see a blue number. This number will show you how much is that stat influenced by the items you wear or by a buff.

• Inventory Window – can be accessed by pressing Space. The window will show you: the current equipment, the hired units, their quick slots and the inventory slots. If you buy a Bag Expansion, additional slots will be added for each of your mercenaries. In the quick slots area you can drag items in order to be used by a certain mercenary only. You also have the Arrange Inventory button on the top.

• Mini Map – it is located in the top right corner of your window. Near it, on the left side you will see your Will bar. Will is used to perform actions such as: eat, drink or teleport. If your Will is low, don’t panic because it will slowly regenerate in time. The Mini Map displays your current position as well as the surrounding areas, closest NPC'’s, etc. Using the + and – buttons on your mini map you will be able to zoom in and out, and pressing the M button will open the world map, which will give you a better view of the current zone. If you are affected by spell, on the left side of your mini map, you can see the spell or the buff that is affecting you.

• Menu Bar – displays information’s such as: your character skills, store, and mercenaries. In the game info section you can find useful information’s about places you visited, important NPC’s or monsters you killed. The community area will display your mail and will help you to find other players or party. The last section is System which allows you to change your settings in the game: resolution, controls or sound settings.
