Step 1: Place Your First Finger
For this chord, you will only be using two fingers on the neck of the guitar. But before you learn where to put these fingers, you must make sure you are seated properly. Sit down on a chair, couch, or wherever is comfortable for you and sit up straight. If you are right handed, have the guitar sit across your torso and lap and have the neck of the guitar in your left hand. Have your right hand hovering over the bridge of the guitar, ready to strum. If you are left-handed, reverse the directions so that you are prepared to strum with your left hand.
Now that you are properly situated, it is time to begin with the A sharp 7 (A#7) chord. Put your first finger (your index finger) on all four strings: G, D, A, and high E.
