The A-flat seventh (Ab7) chord is a four-note chord that's formed from the notes, from lowest to highest: Ab, C, Eb and Gb. Seventh chords are major triads with a minor seventh added to them. This gives them a bluesy sound.c They are important to learn since they are used in a lot of pop and rock songs including Here Comes the Sun and I Want to Hold Your Hand by The Beatles.

How to Play an Ab7 Chord
Ab7 chords are easy and fun to play.
Start out by playing the Ab major triad. Place your right thumb on the Ab note above middle C.
Then, place your middle finger on C. Finally, place your little finger on Eb.
Now, to turn the Ab major chord into an Ab7 chord, cross your left index finger over your right hand and place it on Gb.
With practice, you can play an Ab7 chord with one hand. To play a Ab7 with your right hand, place your thumb on Ab, your index finger on C, your middle finger on Eb and your little finger on Gb. Playing four-note chords with one hand takes practice so try not to get frustrated!
