Allods is a free to play Sci-Fi MMORPG developed by Astrum Nival and published by gPotato. There are no fees required to play this game, however an active account on the official website is needed. The game continues the story started by ‘’Rage of Mages’’, an RPG released on Sep 30, 1998 and developed by Nival Interactive. On July 31, 1999, ‘’Rage of Mages II: Necromancer ‘’continued this saga. Nival Interactive also developed Heroes of Might and Magic V a fantasy turn-based strategy game released on May 23, 2006.

After a war destroyed planet Sarnout, the remaining land was divided into floating planets. The newly created system is now called Allods, and the substance that is keeping the islands floating is known as Astral. The remaining creatures formed two factions: ‘’League’’ and ‘’ Imperial’’. This is where you have to make your choice. Choose one and start your journey in Allods!

This page shows you how to set up the game and create your account.

In order to play Allods you need an active account and the game installed on your computer:

1. Installing the game: To install game you have to download it first. Here are the installation steps you have to follow:
   
   1. Go to http://allods.gpotato.com/ and click on the download button.
   2. Choose the path where you want to download the game client and click Save.
   3. After the game client is downloaded launch the program.
   4. A new download will start. It will take longer, depending on your Internet connection.
   5. After the files are on your computer the installation will start automatically.
   6. Choose Quick Install and click Next.
   7. To continue you have to agree the TOS (Terms of Service)
   8. The installation wizard will start extracting the files on your PC.
   9. Click Next after the process is finished.
   10. The game will automatically launch and you have to create your account.
2. Creating your account: You can only create an account on the official website. If your game is installed follow these steps:
   
   1. On the game launching interface click Registration. You will be redirected to: http://allods.gpotato.com/.
   2. Click Sign-up now.
   3. A new window will open. Click Register
   4. Fill in all the fields: Full name, Email, Account ID, Password, Gender, Date of Birth and the Security Code.
   5. Click Sign-up!.
   6. Go to your email in order to activate your account.

Unlike other MMORPG's, in Allods to create a character you have to select your faction and after this your class. The last step is to select your race and Archetype. Here are some of the races, classes and factions available in the game:

1. League is one of the factions. This faction offers the following classes: Mage, Summoner, Psionicist, Warden, Paladin, Healer, Scout and Warrior. After you select your class you will move to the next screen. You will have the chance to pick your race. You can choose from: Elf, Kanian, or Gibberling.
   Choosing your race it’s not easy, because they all have some strong or weak points.

   1. Crusader – Is the name of the Paladin if you choose the Kanian race. He is able to use two-handed weapons and his specialty is closed melee combats.
   2. Templar – Is an Elf Paladin. The Templar is able to use special and complex techniques and inflicts deep wounds to his enemies.
      If your race is Gibberling, you will not be able to access this class. The main reason is that this race is a small one.
2. Imperial is the second faction of the game. If you choose this one side the classes won’t change, but the abilities will because your races are now: Xadaganian, Orc or Arisen. A Xadaganian Warrior will be called Vanquisher, but if you choose the same class on the Orc race, it will be called Brute. Arisen race will not use melee or ranged combat, however, they will cast powerful spells in order to defeat their enemies.
   

While you create your character you will also be able to customize your character’s appearance. You can change your face appearance, your hair and skin color. After starting the game you will be automatically teleported to the starting area, depending on the faction you choose. This area will help you getting familiarized with the basic actions in the game: moving, attacking, opening your inventory, completing quests, etc…The starting area will also introduce you the story the game is based on. You have to complete the entire quest chain before moving forward. Completing the area will also give you the chance to level up few times. As soon as you finished you will be teleported to the next area.

1. League players will play in Evermeet Isle. To start your journey in Allods, you have to talk to Selena de Ardeur which will present you the first quests. Complete them and only after your reach level 6 you should try to move forward to Lightwood.
2. Empire characters will be teleported in Sewer after finishing the beginner’s quest. They should speak to Igor Nochkin, the Empire Overseer. As soon as all the tasks are finished the next area will be Nezebgrad.

Since Allods is also focusing on air battles, your character will have to learn how to use the weapons from the ships. You will be able to use Astral Cannons or Astral Mortars, to defeat your enemies.
