Form of the Song

"All Apologies" is the final track on Nirvana's final studio record, In Utero, released in 1993.c The song can also be found on the band's stripped down record, MTV Unplugged in New York, recorded just before and released just months after the drug-induced suicide of lead man, Kurt Cobain. The group disbanded immediately after.

The song uses the same guitar riff for the intro and all the verses. Like most Nirvana songs, the focus is on simplicity in guitar structure and strength in lyrics and raspy vocals. The unplugged version is popular oddly enough in its depth, but the original version uses heavy distortion.
