In this video, Mahalo wedding expert Kat Keane explains how to plan your wedding menu.
Showcase Your Personalities
Even if you have different taste palettes, you can use that to your advantage and get creative with the menu. For example, if the two of you are from two different cultural backgrounds, the first course could represent the bride's heritage and the second could represent the groom's. Pick food that tells your story and that you both love.
Keep it Simple
When it comes to dinner, keep the meal under four courses and don't serve food that's too high-end or unusual. You want your guests to enjoy the food but still have time to enjoy dancing or mingling.
Hors d'Oeuvres
Usually, it's a good idea to serve appetizers before the meal so that your guests aren't starving by dinner time. Make sure, though, that they're small so that they don't ruin dinner and that they're easy to eat so that people don't have to hassel with their food.
