One of Mahalo's expert chefs, Tristan Blash, shows you how to make the best chicken wings ever.
Ingredients
- 4 lbs of chicken wings
- Glaze of your choice (see recipes to the right)c
Equipment
- Large pot with lid
- Steamer basket
- Slotted spoon
- Paper towels
- Tongs
- Cookie sheet
- Cooling rack
- Parchment paper
- Basting brushc
Cooking Process
- In a large pot, bring water to a boil and place the chicken wings in the steamer basket. Let cook for 10 minutes.
- While the wings steam, set out a cookie sheet layered with paper towels and place the cooling rack on top.
- Remove the wings from the steamer with the tongs and place on paper towels on the countertop to absorb excess water.
- Transfer the wings to the cookie sheet/cooling rack tray and place in the fridge for an hour.
- Preheat the oven to 425° F.
- Take the wings out of the fridge. Remove the paper towels from the tray and replace them with parchment paper.
- Place the wings in your preheated oven and cook for 20 minutes.
- Flip the wings and cook for another 20 minutes so that the skin is crispy.
- Choose a glaze from the list on the right and use the basting brush to spread the glaze over the wings. Flip the wings and spread glaze to the other side.
- Place on plate and serve. You can always make an additional dipping sauce (also from the list on the right) for your wings.
