Introduction
Looking for a fun and simple craft that the whole family can enjoy doing together? Kids and adults alike will have a blast making homemade Thanksgiving cards, and you can watch recipients' faces light up when they open up your warm, decorative creations. -
Step 1: What You Need to Make Thanksgiving Cards
Here's what you need: http://www.ehow.com/how_5509414_make-homemade-thanksgiving-cards.html- Colored paper or card stock
- Glue
- Scissors
- Pencil
- Colored markers in fall colors, such as orange, red, yellow and brown
- Decorations such as dried leaves, pinecone pieces, or other fall-inspired items
- Glitter (optional)
- Envelopes large enough to contain your cards
Step 2: How to Make Thanksgiving Cards
- Fold a piece of paper or card stock in half
- Pencil an autumn-inspired shape onto one half, so that it goes over the folded edge a bit
- Cut the design out, leaving the folded portion intact
- Unfold the paper--you should have two identical shapes, connected in the middle
- Write your greetings on the cover and inside of the card
- Decorate by drawing Thanksgiving-related designs with markers
- Glue decorations such as dried leaves onto the card
- Add glitter as desired
Step 3: Decorate Your Own Envelopes
To complete your homemade greeting card, you will want to decorate envelopes to match. For complimentary envelopes, use the same color scheme that you used for your cards. You may even glue an embellishment or two to the front of the envelope--just be careful not to glue around the seams or flap! Write the name or the recipient on the envelope, using the same color marker and writing style that you did on the card. The completed package of card and envelope should warm the heart of whomever receives it!Resources Powered by Google
