Mahalo expert Chef Tristan Blash shows us how to make tangy brown sugar glaze to spice up our chicken wings.
Ingredients
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup ketchup
- 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
- 1/2 cup white wine vinegar
- 2 tsp ginger, ground
- 1 1/2 tbsp tabasco
Equipment
- Large skillet
- Spatula (for mixing and stirring)
- Pastry brush
Preparation Process
- Warm skillet over medium heat.
- Combine water, ketchup, brown sugar and vinegar in warm skillet. Mix thoroughly.
- Add tabasco to mix. Keep stirring to let the water evaporate and sugar carmelize (you want it to turn into a glaze that will stick to your pastry brush).
- When it's thick enough, brush the glaze on top of your chicken wings and serve! Easy as pie.
