Introduction
The main ingredient of tabouli is bulgur, a whole grain which has been processed slightly to make it quick to cook. To make tabouli, the bulgur is soaked and drained, then mixed with dressing, herbs, and vegetables. -

- Boil 2 cups of water
- Soak the bulgur in the water for 10-30 minutes until tender
- Drain well, squeezing to remove excess moisture
- Mix bulgur with parsley and mint
- Whisk together lemon juice, oil, salt and pepper
- Combine dressing with bulgur
Step 3: Tabouli Variations
- Add 2 tomatoes, diced, and 4 green onions, chopped.
- Soak the bulgur in tomato juice instead of water, for additional flavor.
- Add 1 cucumber, chopped.
- Serve topped with grilled shrimp or chicken.
