Step 3: Make the Strawberry Ice Cream
There are several ways to make ice cream. You can use an ice cream maker, or use a method that produces ice cream without a machine. If you're using a machine, make sure to follow the manufacturer's instructions for best results.
- Make sure the strawberry custard is well chilled before beginning.
- If your ice cream maker requires salt, make sure to use rock salt specifically labeled as food safe.
- as slowly frozen ice cream is smoother, use the minimum amount of salt suggested for your machine.
- Ice cream expands as it freezes, so don't fill your ice cream maker more than about three quarters full.
- Allow the strawberry ice cream to cure for several hours in the freezer before serving.
