How to Make Spritz Cookies
- Spritz cookies are a seasonal treat. They are essentially butter or sugar cookies put through a cookie press. Spritz cookies are quite easy to make and, thanks to your handy cookie press, can take on any number of whimsical shapes.
Ingredients You'll Need

- 1 heavy duty mixer
- Cookie sheet
- cookie press
Spritz Cookie Baking Instructions
- Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
- In the bowl of a heavy duty mixer, beat the butter and sugar.
- Stir in the the flour, salt, egg and vanilla extract.
- Stir in a few drops of food coloring if desired.
- Place dough in cookie press.
- Squeeze cookie press to form the desired shapes on the cookie sheet.
- Bake the cookies in the preheated oven for 5 to 8 minutes.
- The cookies are done with the edges start to brown.
- Remove the cookies from the oven.
- Cool on a rack for approximately 2 hours before decorating or freezing.
